Eppo Rynko Ottes Organbuilding / Taller de Organòs/ Orgelbau/Orgelbouw

 

Eppo Rynko Ottes born 8 Mai 1941 in Groningen Holland   As organbuilder he operates since 45 years now. He became famous for his scaling of the pipework and the beautiful sound he grants the organs with his intonation. He has voiced about 200 organs everywhere in Europe, Japan and Korea. The engineering and /or construction has been realized, besides the voicing, for more than 60 mechanic organs. Also a lot of restorations and reconstructions have been realized.

Experience

He was in his youth an organ enthousiastic boy. Together with his friend he travelled by bycicle and train to the Dutch ,the German, Danish and Swedish organs at an age of 14 years already. Since his 6th year he learned to play piano and later organ by Wim van Beek(Organist of the Martini-church in Groningen).And by Finn Videro in Kopenhagen. In 1959 he played together with his friend Bernhard Edskes(now also Organbuilder) the first Organrecital on the famous Marcussen-Organ in Varde/Denmark. In this time he visit also the

organfactories from Marcussen /Frobenius  and Troels Krohn.

He got the knowledge of about 300 of the famous historical organs in the Groningen area.. Here he got the ultimate knowledge and skills to become a good organbuilder.After he worked at 3 organbuilders in Holland.He started in 1965 with his own company, but because of the bad economic situation of many churches in Holland that days, he got to Danmark, after several years.At 2 danish organbuilder, he did the engineering, schaling of the pipework and the final voicing for a lot of organs(Troels Krohn and Paul Gerhard Andersen.) In 1972 he started in Germany, first at Organbuilder Späth with the same tasks as before in Danmark. Lateron free lance and in 1978 he started again his own organbuilding in South Germany, near the Swiss border. He did build several new organs, did restores of ancient organs and sometimes he worked freelance for Swiss and German Organbuilders. They asked him because his fame of the beautiful and artistic Voicing. This fame brings him also to Korea and Japan  for voicing of 4 organs.

In 1992 he moved to Spain. He worked free lance for 2 Spanish organbuilders where he did the engineering, scaling the pipework and the final intonation. He started his own organbuilding again in 1998, in Sant Andreas de Llavaneres, Barcelona, Spain under the name:

Since then his Factory built, restored several organs as can be seen on the list in the tab: Our Organs.

In 2006 he returned to Holland as he was in the pensioned age. Nevertheless, he continued his activities just out.
Now    2011/2012    he makes the plans for 2 house-organs (6 and 4 stops) .
